Our team

Parkinson’s Equip is run by a small team of part-time volunteer trustees driven by a passion to support people with Parkinson’s to live fulfilling lives.

  • Ray Wegrzyn

    Founder and Chair. Ray enjoyed a successful career in the Probation Service. He was then promoted to become HM Inspector of Probation. He retired early due to Parkinson’s related ill health. He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 1995 aged 39.

  • Debra Long

    Debra is our Treasurer. After a successful career as an Admin Manager in the Probation Service and having gained an MBA, Debra is now self employed as a Property Mentor and Coach.

  • Tom Davenport

    Tom is our Secretary. He runs his own engineering company, as well as teaching maths and computing at Aston University.

  • Ali King

    Ali is a freelance content writer based in Clitheroe, Lancashire. After seeing her stepdad live with Parkinson’s for almost a decade, Ali began volunteering with us to offer free social media support in 2020 and became a trustee in 2021.
