24 miles of Equipmas is here!

Our annual festive challenge has begun - are you joining us?

We’re pledging to complete one mile a day from 1st to 24th December as part of our #24milesofequipmas campaign.

What is 24 miles of Equipmas all about?

Designed to highlight the incredible benefits of exercise on Parkinson’s symptoms, we’re asking YOU to walk, run, or cycle at least a mile every day in the run-up to Christmas to help us spread the word.

Last year’s #24milesofequipmas campaign proved so popular, we can’t wait to see your progress through December 2021!

How to take part in 24 miles of Equipmas

Taking part in this campaign is simple.

All you have to do is:

  1. Walk, run, or cycle at least one mile a day from 1st to 24th December

  2. Share your progress on social media using the hashtag #24milesofequipmas

  3. Raise money through sponsorship if you like, but it’s not compulsory!

What are the benefits of exercise for people with Parkinson’s?

Regular exercise is amazing for people living with Parkinson’s and brings some life-enhancing benefits. These include:

  • Better balance

  • Improved mobility

  • Improved gait

  • Reduce in tremors

  • Better flexibility

  • Better grip

  • Improvements in coordination

  • Increased strength

As well as all of these benefits, exercise also boosts mood to improve your general wellbeing and helps you carry out everyday tasks with more ease and comfort.
